Chương trình này tương đối ngon. Nếu bạn nào muốn tăng độ mạnh của hồ sơ lên một tí thì đi rồi apply chỗ khác sau (có khi qua gặp giáo ổn quá rồi ở lại luôn ). Trong thời gian 4 tháng làm ở đây các bạn có thể tận dụng để học tiếng Anh (dự các lecture bằng tiếng Anh, có lớp học tiếng Anh thông dụng miễn phí do các giáo viên đến từ Mỹ và Canada dạy, giáo xịn đấy....). Nếu làm tốt tốt bạn cũng có thể xin LOR của một giáo ở đây (hầu hết học ở Mỹ về). Các bạn đọc thêm bên dưới lấy thông tin chi tiết nhé.

2009 GIST Intern Program
September 1, 2009 – December 22, 2009

The Center for International Students and Scholars (CISS) at the Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST), Korea, is planning to host an International Intern Program in Science and Technology for 2009.
The primary objective of the International Intern Program is to carry out research and provide training related to science and technology.
CISS has worked to organize an International Intern Program once a year, offering students from various countries the opportunity to participate in a 4 month training course at GIST. This year, we are seeking up to 20 intern students for the upcoming Fall Semester (September 1, 2009 – December 22, 2009).
The International Intern Program is designed to provide knowledge and skills related to science and technology in the areas of Life Science, Mechatronics, Information and Communications, Materials Science, Environmental Science, and Photonics.

Details:

Participants of the Program will be assigned to a department laboratory and receive their research training and coursework under the supervision of the professor in charge of the laboratory.

Information regarding department labs and courses offered can be obtained from the GIST website. Applicants should select from the participating laboratories in order of interest and fill in the application form ranking their interests in order of priority.
Participants who successfully complete the Intern Program will receive a Certificate of Completion.

The record of each participant will be retained by GIST and used as part of the evaluation if the participant wishes to enter an M.S. or Ph.D. program at GIST in the future.

Support for the participants:

* One-way airfare (economy class).
* Dormitory accommodation (two persons per room).
* Stipend of 400,000 Korean Won (approximately $400) per month to cover dormitory rent (30,000 Korean Won) & living costs.
* Medical insurance during the Program period

Visa status:
Please remember that you should obtain a D-4 visa when applying for a Korean visa.

June 16, 2009 Final decision and notification of successful application

August 29, 2009 Arrival of participants to GIST

September 1, 2009 Opening Ceremony (Start of semester)

Applicants should be graduate students or current students of a university in their home country. If you are interested in participating in this Program, please complete the application formand send it to CISS with the following documents:

* Cover letter: Describe how you obtained information related to this Intern Program; why the internship program will be useful to you in the context of your career goals; and why you are interested in the lab you selected.

* Certificates of graduation or Certificate of enrollment status (including every degree you've attained).
* Academic transcripts.

To ensure efficient processing, please provide your exact address, phone number, and full name on the application form as it appears on your passport.
The deadline for application is April 19, 2009. Please send the original documents to us with below mentioned address by April 24, 2009. You will be notified by e-mail as to whether your application has been accepted by June 16, 2009.
